I have released quite a few brand new features, including the forum that you are reading. These features have been tested on Solitaire Craving but they may still have the odd hickup now and then, if you find anything out of place or something that doesn't seem to work please be sure to post it in the bug tracking section of this forum.

One of the most exciting features added to sudoku craving is the ability to rate comments. You can now click the 'Rate this comment' link on any comment to decide whether the comment is helpful, funny, interesting or even misleading.

To encourage more people to discuss the game (putting the social aspect back into the game itself) the person with the most helpful rating will receive an award. You must have a rating of +3 Helpful or better to get the award.

Comments and forum posts support emoticons and links. You can post an emoticon using the normal shorthand equivelents on the keyboard. You can refer to a game by placing the @# symble's in front of the game name (for example game @#1 is the first game). You can also do this with usernames, simply put an @ symble in front of a name (@ adam lyttle will be @adam lyttle).

You can now track movement in the stats. This will show the main ranking movements throughout the day. When a new game is generated this is automatically cleared.

The images for the awards have now been updated. Instead of the old cluttered stars they are now condensed and look a little neater.

You can view a users average time and average moves in their profile.

There is now a 'My Stats' link below your avatar on the main page and on the forum pages. This will lead show all of your scores. You can also view all of a users scores by clicking the 'view all' link towards the bottom of the profile page.

The timing mechanism has been updated to prevent cheating. I will see what sort of impact this has on the community over the next few days.

I'm sure I have forgotten a couple of new features, as I have uploaded so many, but I have covered most of them in this post.

Enjoy the new game!

Adam

I have removed the autolinking mechanism. With the number of users and games registered it may be causing considerable performance loss.

Thanks for all of the new features....I'm very impressed with how the site has grown. I do have a couple small suggestions though.....in the My Stats section, could you add a couple of columns displaying the rank on each puzzle, as well as the points earned for the puzzle? I think that would be very interesting to display, to allow the users to quickly identify times in puzzles which could use improvement. Just a thought....

Both very good suggestions. And I have been thinking about both of them quite a bit.

Maybe while on a beach - please consider providing access to games by game numbers. Not the DB references but by their sequence numbers. Great site.

Brian, I enjoy my daily fix, thanks. Seams like the scores are not adding up anymore. I recently did a lot of new hands and my ranking never changes.

G'day Adam,
I might be making myself a target for flying bricks with this one but how about making the game available to IPv6 crowd? You know what they say, "You are not close enough to the edge unless you are bleeding". Yours would be the first IPv6 game site. Should do it if not for anything else, for bragging rights!

Good news for the few that still use this site. Adam sold the site and the new administrator has said that the changes that have been implemented for Solitaire are coming. It'll be nice to get the scoring system restored. I'm having trouble with the lines dividing the squares don't all show. Anyone else having that kind of problem?

Hi Fizzbut,

The lines not showing seems to be a browser problem. I can't see everything in Chrome or Internet Explorer, but it all works fine in Firefox.

If you find any problems or if you have any suggestions or enquiries please feel free to at contact form.
